Pan IIT Inc hosted its first Global Conferences in 2003 during which, Bill Gates recognized the alumni of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) as leaders in innovation and technology, and CBS, in it’s “60 Minutes” TV segment, made IIT’s a household name by presenting the fact that it was more difficult to get admitted an IIT than the best Ivy League schools in America.. It was just two year later, in 2005, that the US government recognized the contributions of the IIT Alumni to the US economy at a ceremony held at the Capitol Hill.
